Help shape the operational foundations of a growing specialist insurance business.

Lilley Plummer Risks, part of the Clear Group, is looking for an experienced Head of Technical & Operations to lead the systems, processes, controls and governance that underpin our business.

This is a highly visible role with the opportunity to make a real impact. Working across broking, finance, compliance and leadership teams, you'll help ensure our operations are efficient, scalable and fit for future growth, while driving improvements in data quality, reporting, system capability and operational performance.

We're looking for someone who enjoys solving complex operational challenges, improving the way things work and leveraging technology, data and process improvement to deliver better business outcomes. This role is ideally suited to an experienced insurance operations leader who has built their career within a Lloyd's, London Market, wholesale or specialist insurance environment.

What you'll be doing

You'll lead the ongoing development of our technical and operational capability, including:

  • Driving operational excellence across broking processes and workflows
  • Owning and enhancing broking systems, including GPM, Acturis and associated platforms
  • Improving data quality, governance and reporting capability
  • Supporting effective oversight of the Insurance Broking Accounts (IBA) function
  • Leading system enhancements, automation initiatives and operational change projects
  • Strengthening controls, governance and regulatory compliance
  • Working closely with colleagues across the business to improve efficiency and performance

What we're looking for

You'll have a strong understanding of insurance broking operations and experience managing the systems, controls, governance and data that support a successful broking business.

This role is likely to suit an experienced insurance operations leader who has built their career within a Lloyd's, London Market, wholesale or specialist insurance environment. You may currently be working as a Head of Operations, Broking Operations Manager, Technical Operations Manager, Head of Technical Services or in a similar operational leadership role.

We're particularly interested in individuals who have:

  • Experience within Lloyd's, London Market, wholesale or specialist insurance businesses
  • Worked extensively with broking platforms such as GPM, Acturis or similar systems
  • Led operational improvement, automation or change initiatives
  • Owned data quality, reporting or governance frameworks
  • Experience working with or overseeing Insurance Broking Accounts (IBA) processes
  • Strong knowledge of insurance broking processes and operational controls
  • Successfully influenced colleagues and stakeholders without relying on direct line management responsibility

You'll be someone who is proactive, solutions-focused and comfortable taking ownership in a fast-paced environment. You'll enjoy improving the way things work, challenging existing processes and delivering meaningful business improvements.

This feels more senior, more targeted, and clearly tells candidates who they are and why they'd be a fit. It's also likely to improve the quality of applications because it speaks directly to Operations Managers, Technical Services leaders and Broking Operations professionals.

Why join Lilley Plummer Risks?

As part of the Clear Group, we're combining specialist expertise with ambitious growth plans.

This role offers the opportunity to:

  • Influence how a specialist Lloyd's market business operates and evolves
  • Lead meaningful operational and system improvements
  • Work closely with senior stakeholders across the business
  • Drive initiatives that improve efficiency, performance and client outcomes
  • Be part of a collaborative, ambitious and growing organisation
